Colchester Cultural Feast

It's part of Colchester Food & Drink Festival! Colchester Chinese School will offer various Chinese culture workshops on Sunday 25th June 2017 at Colchester Castle Park (Lower Park) from 11:00 to 15:00. Please visit here for more details.

Children's Chinese Culture Day

We will hold a Chinese culture workshop for children to celebrate International Children's Day on Thursday 1st June 2017 at St. John's Church, St. John's Close, Colchester CO4 0HP from 10:30 to 16:30.

The programme includes paper cutting, origami, Chinese calligraphy, face painting, traditional Chinese dance etc..

The workshop is free, but you need to bring in your own packed lunch.

Everyone is welcome! 

NB: Five pounds donation would be appreciated.    

Traditional Chinese Medicine Workshop (2)

We will hold another Traditional Chinese Medicine workshop, due to popular demand. This time the theme is "Tui Na on Young Child -- Spleen and Stomach" (in English and Chinese). It will be on Saturday 6th May 2017 at Colchester Chinese School from 15:20 to 16:50 (please find the venue here). 

The presenter is Dr Yan Liu, who graduated from the renowned Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. She had worked as a consultant in the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing and the chief Chinese medicine doctor at Shi Zhen clinic in the UK. More details could be found from here

GCSE Chinese Talk

We will hold a GCSE Mandarin Chinese talk on Saturday 6th May 2017 at Colchester Chinese School from 13:00 to 15:10 (please find the venue here). 

The keynote speaker is Ms Fu Xiong, an Edexcel GCSE Chinese examiner, who teaches Chinese at a top private school in London. She will talk about GCSE Chinese in general and explain changes of content and assessment of future exams. 

Another speaker is Tom Kirkham, a Year 13 student at Colchester Royal Grammar School, who has been learning Mandarin Chinese for several years and has completed a GCSE in the language. He has a lot of experience to share in learning Chinese as an native English speaker. More details could be found from here

Chinese Medicine Workshop

We will hold a "Chinese Medicine and Life" (in English and Chinese) workshop this Saturday 12th November 2016 at the Colchester Chinese School from 14:00 to 15:00 (please find the venue here). 11+ Forum

We will hold the long-awaited 11+ Forum this Saturday 12th November 2016 at the Colchester Chinese School from 13:00 to 14:00 (please find the venue here). It will be hosted by a university lecturer who is experienced in educational research. We have also invited some parents who would like to share their success stories.

Fire Drill

Please note that there might be a fire drill this Saturday 1st October 2016 as part of the routine safety check carried out by the Stanway Federation Learning Centre. Teachers please take the up-to-date register to school. If parents stay at the school during class time, please sign the register in the school hall. Furthermore please can teachers lead students to the meeting point at the end of the playground by the field with your register for the fire Marshall to check.
